A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
My Journey
With a lifelong passion for yoga rooted in personal healing and discovery I bring over 25 years of committed Iyengar yoga practice to my teaching.
My journey began in 1982 during university, when I attended free lunchtime sessions by the Hare Krishna Temple. After exploring various classes - and setbacks - I found my way back to yoga through self-practice with an Iyengar book I found in Germany.

I've since trained extensively, starting with a foundational teacher training at VYASA in Bangalore, and later learning under senior Iyengar teachers Karin O'Bannon and Peter Thomson.
I'm a certified Iyengar yoga teacher, a registered teacher trainer with IYA and have completed over 670 hours of advanced teacher development.
My training also includes Somatic Movement therapy, body centring and Reiki.
From 2000-2006, I taught in studios across Singapore, before opening my own studio in 2003, where I taught exclusively from 2006 onward.
Now based in Cape Town, I'm in the process of establishing new yoga space grounded in the Iyengar tradition.

My approach to yoga is deeply informed by a personal journey through trauma and transformation. The Iyengar method of Yoga has given me resilience, emotional balance and a strong spine - both literally and metaphorically.
Teaching is my way of sharing this strength and compassion, offering a grounded nurturing practice that supports students on and off the mat.
With a life lived across Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Israel, Germany,Scotland, Spain,Italy and Singapore, I bring a global perspective and deep empathy to everything I teach.
I look forward to welcoming you on retreat and to regular classes -to reconnect, realign and restore.

ABOUT IYENGAR YOGA
Yogacharya B.K.S.Iyengar
Originating in India over 5000 years ago, yoga is both a technique for keeping the body fit and healthy and a philosophy.
Yoga, according to B.K.S.Iyengar is characterised by the practice of postures(asanas) and breathing (pranayama) all done with rigour, intensity and precision. These basic principles allow one to develop better physical and mental balance.
The teaching is progressive and adapted to the physical capabilities of each person.
The use of belts, blocks and blankets assist in the learning process. These props were developed by Mr Iyengar through his practice and teachings.
Mr Iyengar wrote and published many books, the most famous being: Light on Yoga, Light on Pranayama and Light on Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
